The featured film will be Blow, and it will be followed by a discussion about how the media and society influence and portray our views and abilities to cope with and respond to addiction with facilitators Jan Torres and Chris Kennedy.  The film series, including food, is free. According to sponsors, the movies provide excellent opportunities to reflect and discuss topics that affect most people in one way or another.

Escalation in Afghanistan: What is the Alternative?

Freelance journalist Robert Dreyfuss will be addressing key questions such as: what are America’s goals in Afghanistan? Who exactly, is the enemy?  How dangerous is that enemy?  What would an exit strategy look like?  He will also discuss Afghanistan in the context of the regional picture, from Pakistan to Iran, Iraq and the Middle East.
