Our neighbors in Utah have asked me to pass along this opportunity to you all:
Looking for something fun to do this summer? How about coming to Camp Shakespeare 2010 at the Tony-Award-winning Utah Shakespearean Festival, the finest adult theatrical experience in the world! Two five-day camps and one three-day camp in late July and early August feature down-center tickets to all six professional productions; deluxe room and board; daily class sessions featuring all the “star” actors, directors, designers, and stage technicians at the festival; a party with the actors; a picnic at a beautiful mountain cabin; up to six semester units of in-service credit for teachers; and much, much more! For dates, prices, and other information, see our website or contact the Camp Shakespeare director, Dr. Michael Flachmann, at (661) 654-2121 or mflachmann@csub.edu. The festival’s 2010 plays include Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing, Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps, and theatrical adaptations of two beloved novels: Great Expectations and Pride and Prejudice. Dr. Flachmann, a Carnegie Foundation United States Professor of the Year, has been Company Dramaturg at the festival for the past twenty-five years.
